Can collecting - another way of raising funds to help pay our huge vet fees. The dogs enjoy the attention and cuddles.

On Friday 10th March 2006 we had the opportunity to raise funds by bag packing at Morrisons in Troon. Greyhound Rescue Scotland would like to say a huge thanks to Morrisons, their staff (for putting up with us), their generous customers and the volunteers that attended - Jan, Alexis, Neil, Elaine, Lesley, Richard, Debra, Ken, Nicola and Carol. We are thrilled to report our efforts raised a fantastic sum of £795.27.

On Saturday 20th May 2006 Greyhound Rescue Scotland held our annual sponsored dog walk within the grounds at Pollok Country Park --- the turnout was one of the largest in several years and many adopted dogs and their owners took part. A dog show also formed part of the day and the winners of each class are shown. The day resulted in over £1560 being raised. We would like to thank everyone who took part in making this a wonderful day.

We would like to thank Morrison of Ayr for allowing us to carry out a can collection at the premises on Saturday 27th May 2006. Our efforts were well rewarded by the generosity of customers and staff at the store with the sum of £565.66 being raised. Thanks to all volunteers who took part and succeeded in raising much needed funds.

In July 2006 we were invited to attend the Ayr Dog Training Club fun day and dog show at Ayr Greyhound Stadium. Our dogs behaved beautifully and we enjoyed taking part in the dog show. We raised £180.87 on the day and would like to thank everyone who donated to our cause.

On Saturday 16th July 2006 we joined the fun at Pollok Park Family Fun Day. Many thanks to all the volunteers who helped and of course the dogs who were all extrememly well behaved. We raised £405.64 on the day.

Ayr Dog Training Club decided to raise funds for a few charities On Monday 30th October 2006 we were invited to join their fun Halloween Party at Ayr Greyhound Stadium. Alan and Ricky were awarded 3rd Prize for fancy dress.
